The aim of the Kids’ Own Voices Programme is to give voice to young people from 2 school communities across the border region, enabling them to negotiate and express issues of identity and diversity relevant to them and the wider community. Through collaboration and exchange they have developed partnerships that examine and investigate issues of mutual understanding and respect. To date artists have been working with the young people using the arts and technology as a tool for self-expression and exchange. They have been working across the curriculum involving art, music, history geography, PE and SPHE. The work created will be showcased at the Clinton Centre in May 2007. The publication arising from this work will showcase shared work and findings from this programme to inform future work in the post-primary sector.
Follow their work by visiting the artists and and schools diaries.
