This was our first week together in 2007 and we began by looking back at our work from last term. It was refreshing and fun and we had a good laugh. We looked at our video diary before posting it to Phil at Mercy College. It looks well and gives a nice overview of our experience in this school. We are looking forward to seeing the Mercy video diary. For our first art session we talked about how to approach making a personal profile. We reckoned a unique personal mask would be a good idea and Colin did a demonstration and then we all got stuck in and started to make one each. They look great already but we want each one to represent the person making it so we will think about how we want them to develop and look forward to working on them again next week.

The last week before christmas we were incredibly busy tying all the different threads of the project together. A lot of sound recording still had to be done, so we spent most of wednesday recording while the rest of the group finished all the other pieces and made posters for the exhibition. Finally on friday we had the big day. We displayed a lot of the box portraits in the atrium and created an installation in the prefabs. Once we started projecting images onto the cut out shapes all the glitter started to sparkle and create a really magical atmosphere. We also showed the ripples animation in the same room.
Lots of students and teachers came to see the show and we got an overwhelmingly positive response. Everybody loved the songs the students had made up and a lot of people were very intrigued by the installation.
